Listen, robots cannot write like that. You’re free and clear ;) And also brilliant and funny and insightful. Obvi.

Chela Davison’s question

2. What do you edit, soften, or swallow—creatively or relationally—and why do you think that is? What’s being protected or maintained?

- I edit how alive and loosely I express myself as a new-after-many-years returning artist/now oil painter. I am building my skills. Being a “wild” painter doesn’t accomplish what I am after. If my paintings are “alive” on a subtle to vibrant continuum then I’m excited! I think I haven’t wanted to embarrass myself or make that many attempts/tries/mistakes - no disasters - on my way to what I want to be able to draw and paint. I guess what I might have been trying to protect was my ego? It hasn’t worked. Guess I better stop thinking so much, use my intuition as you say, get busy, put the time in and really appreciate (along with color, shapes …) the creative surprises that I didn’t anticipate and are so life and effort affirming. I am subscribing because I can’t do it alone - my diet lacks the positive creative energy of a community like the one you are growing.
